Why Gateway for Europe

Anyone can book a trip to Europe. We design the one you'll talk about for years.

Europe rewards people who know where to look: the quieter Tuscan village twenty minutes from the tour buses, the Paris hotel within walking distance of everything, the river cruise cabin that’s actually worth the upgrade. That’s the difference an expert makes.

Europe is what Gateway Travel’s advisors sell most, and know best. We don’t work from a storefront; we work for you, with personal planning, honest advice and someone to call before, during and after your trip.

You bring the dream. We bring the details, the connections and the know-how.

Our Signature Destinations

England. Italy. France.

The three countries our travelers ask for most, and the three we know inside and out.

England

Royal history, West End theater and countryside straight out of a storybook. We’ll pair the best of London with the places most visitors miss, from honey-stone Cotswold villages to the Roman Baths and the windswept coast of Cornwall.

Italy

Ancient Rome, Renaissance Florence, the canals of Venice and the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. We’ll pace your Italy trip so you have time to linger over the long lunches and golden-hour views that make it unforgettable.

France

Paris cafés, Normandy’s beaches, Provence’s lavender fields and the vineyards of Bordeaux and Burgundy. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifth, we’ll show you a France that feels personal.

European River Cruises

Unpack once. Wake up somewhere new every morning.

River cruising is one of the most relaxed ways to see Europe: castles on the Rhine, Christmas markets on the Danube, Paris to Normandy on the Seine. We book river cruises every week, and we’ll help you choose the right line, ship, river and cabin.

Viking

Thoughtful, adults-only exploration

Calm Scandinavian-style ships designed for curious travelers, with a guided shore excursion included in every port. A great fit for first-time river cruisers.

AmaWaterways

Wine, wellness & active touring

Known for excellent food and wine, onboard bikes and wellness programs, and a wide choice of excursions from gentle walks to guided hikes.

Avalon Waterways

Suites with a view

Panoramic Suites with wall-to-wall windows and beds that face the river, plus flexible ways to explore ashore at your own pace.

Europe Travel Questions

When is the best time to visit Europe?

Spring (April–June) and fall (September–October) offer pleasant weather and fewer crowds than peak summer. Winter brings festive Christmas market river cruises. We’ll help you match the season to your destination.

How far ahead should I book a European river cruise?

River ships are small, so the best cabins and dates often fill a year or more ahead. Booking early usually means better choice and the best available offers.

Does it cost more to use a travel advisor?

[Gateway’s fee policy here.] Many of our partners pay us directly, and as a MAST member agency we can often add value through partner offers and amenities you won’t find booking on your own.

Can you combine a land trip with a river cruise?

Absolutely. Add a few days in Paris before a Seine cruise, or explore Prague and Vienna around a Danube sailing. We’ll handle hotels and transfers so it all connects seamlessly.
